Staten Cousins Roe

Nominated for Screen International’s Genre Rising Star Award, Staten’s first short as writer & director, black comedy This Way Out, won international awards, including the Prix Decale (Offbeat Award) at the 30th Festival du Cinema European, Lille and was BAFTA Longlisted for Best Live Action short. This Way Out has been screened across the world including on HBO & The Sundance Channel Europe. After originally training as an actor, Staten attended numerous development courses including the NFTS Emerging Producers short course and was selected for the LOCO mentoring scheme led by Sky Comedy.  Staten’s debut feature, A Serial Killer’s Guide to Life world premiered at Arrow Video Frightfest, and was released across the USA, Canada, UK, Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Iceland, Finland and South Africa. He is currently developing a slate of further feature and TV projects.

Poppy Roe

Poppy produced and script-edited award winning black comedy This Way Out. She also plays the lead role of Minnie – the psychopathic owner of the euthanasia centre. Poppy co-wrote short comedy The Leisure Class for the US, written & shot by HBO Project Greenlight winner Jason Mann, recently turned into a feature film by HBO (exec produced by Ben Affleck & Matt Damon). Trained at Rose Bruford College, London – Poppy is also an actor in film, TV and theatre. She produced, edited and plays the co-lead in Forward Motion’s jet-black comedy A Serial Killer’s Guide to Life.
